CO2. It is, of course, the gas that humans breathe out and plants breathe in. What better scam to convince people of the need to tax the very air we breathe? Without CO2, plants cannot live and of course, without plants, humans cannot live. Some scammers like Al Gore stand to make a huge profit off of “carbon credits” (See Al Gore Could become World's First Carbon Billionaire http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/energy/6491195/Al-Gore-could-become-wor...) - the government scheme to tax all life, basically all human action.

The scammers' plans started unraveling with the revelation of hundreds of emails from CO2 researchers. These researchers strove to prove that CO2 levels were rising due to human action. The email showed not only that CO2 levels rose and fell in cycles unrelated to humans, but also caught researchers in a fraud to create data showing the earth warming due to rising CO2 levels. The top researcher for the UN, Dr. Phil Jones, was forced to step down over these 'climategate' emails (See Scientist Steps Down in Climategate Investigation http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/tech-mainmenu-30/environment/245...).

Now the government is toying with a new scam to attempt to scare people into accepting a tax on breathing. Radio stations are featuring a new public service announcement, funded by the US Department of Energy. This one acknowledges that CO2 is needed for plant growth, but makes the inane claim that with rising CO2 levels, we'll be overgrown with plants such as poison ivy. They neglect to mention that ALL plants would thrive in a higher CO2 environment.

The government must really think we are all stupid.
