Obamacare will kill my wife
Thu, 03/11/2010 - 12:33 — katkanningShe's not ill often, but when my wife gets sick, she confuses the doctors. When she had a tubular pregnancy, she had no pain in her ovaries so the doctor didn't think she was pregnant at all. She insisted that he give her the test, and he did.
The next day, he called frantically because the test showed she was pregnant and he knew the fetus was not in her uterus. They got it out a few hours before she would have ruptured and bled to death.
Under Obamacare, the government will publish a list of what is covered and what is not. Since my wife did not have the right symptoms, a doctor wouldn't want to get in trouble with the government by giving her a test that was not on the list.
Government isn't very good at making judgment calls - they've been suspending kids for bringing cough drops to school because that's what the rules say. How can we expect health rules to be any different?
The Government Wants to Control You
Wed, 03/03/2010 - 17:08 — katkanningToday more than ever, we must ask ourselves about the direction this country is heading in. Is it for the freedom our forefathers believed in and fought for, or is it giving in to the greed of a people that believes in self interest that can only be paid for with higher taxes?
There is that word again. Taxes. A word that means money in the pockets of those who take freedom away.
When Keene police arrested a woman for choosing to go topless like the men do, their actions were paid for with taxes. When Lauren or Dave are placed in a car that was paid for with tax dollars, remember that it was greed that helped to pay for the illegal arrests.
Personal or political greed--it does not matter. There are other forms of greed as well. When a home is seized by a bank, it is done because of corporate greed. When the government does not want you to speak out in the name of real freedom, it is because of greed.
Mr. Obama is incorrect - the science of "global warming" is NOT settled
Wed, 03/03/2010 - 16:23 — katkanning
England just had the coldest January in years. The high-speed train between England and France was stopped by unusually cold and snowy weather. The Copenhagen "Global Warming" conference had the coldest weather the city has seen in a long time.
To top it off, Mr. Obama said in his State of the Union address that the science of Global Warming is settled beyond doubt. The Republicans laughed; that was the silliest thing I've heard a President say in many years.
If you google "climategate" you'll find that newspapers in England are doing their job and reporting on the scientific frauds done at government labs so the scientists could get more grants of our money.
And now, just after Mr. Obama told us that the scientists had agreed it was getting warmer, DC has a record snowfall going back to the 1800's.
Jailed for Jesus Christ
Sun, 01/03/2010 - 08:12 — katkanningFor more than forty years I, Ron Branson, have been driving without accident or liability. During such time, neither my faith in Christ, nor a government imposed religion has come into play. However, after so many years of driving, the government has now decided to assert their religious standard in order to renew a driver’s license. Hence, they now require that I bow the knee and do obeisance to their socialistic god of humanism, to wit, revere the Social Security Number (SSN), aka, a Socialist tracking number.
Suspend the Collection and Withholding of Personal Income Taxes
Tue, 12/15/2009 - 17:22 — katkanningDear Editor:
It seems that Congress is always able to surpass its previous level of either chicanery or stupidity. Either our representatives are making a wedding gift commemorating the unholy marriage between big money and big government or someone needs to hand it a sign saying "I'm Stupid!"
The recent hand over fist outpourings of Americans' money to lenders and others have already exceeded a trillion dollars and now they are considering dishing out as much again to everyone except those who need relief.
The current crisis is that people are losing their homes and people are losing their jobs, making the purchase of goods and services beyond their reach which leads to more people losing their jobs and unable to pay for their homes. So, why are they giving the people's money to banksters and corporations that can afford to hand out 100+ million dollar bonuses to CEO's who have managed to fail their companies into government bestowed prosperity? Give them their signs.
Senator Shaheen Wants You to Pay For Abortions!
Sun, 12/13/2009 - 11:22 — katkanningRead her attached letter!
Yesterday, the US Senate took up Senator Ben Nelson's (D-NE) amendment to the federal health care bill which would have prohibited tax-payer funding of abortion. The amendment needed 60 votes to pass and lost 54-45. Among those voting against the bill was New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen.
This morning, Cornerstone's Executive Director, Kevin Smith, released the following statement to the press:
"We are very disappointed by Senator Shaheen's decision to reject a common sense amendment to the health care bill which would have prohibited tax payer funding of abortions. Mrs. Shaheen has once again demonstrated her extreme position on this issue by capitulating to the abortion lobby rather than representing her own constituents."
Open Letter to Senator Shaheen
Sun, 12/13/2009 - 11:09 — katkanningDear Senator Shaheen,
New Hampshire doesn’t want the “Obama/Reid/Pelosi” health care bill. Competition and sensible marketplace reforms will lower premium costs and improve health care choices for individuals and businesses.
I express my strong opposition to the “Government takeover” of healthcare! This adds up to a massive, expensive new federal program that we can’t afford. How on earth do you think we’ll be able to pay for government-subsidized health care?
I know the answer to that question: More taxes and stifling mandates. My children, grandchildren, and I will pick up the tab.
NH DOS Employee Uses State Authority and Treasury for Personal Vendetta

Mark Hilbert NH Dept. Of Safety State investigator was charged with stalking a homeowner in Dublin over her generator being hooked up during the NH ice storm because the home main breaker was accidentally left on back feeding electricity to the power line. Thankfully no one was harmed. The state had received hundreds of reports of people who had hooked up their generators this way due to shortages of parts during the ice storm state of emergency. Lineman were checking for back feeding due to this.
Elaine Brown: "Prepare for full blown slavery!"
Sat, 08/22/2009 - 14:15 — katkanningReferring to the article in the July 29 edition [of the Fort Fairfield Journal] about my husband and myself, as of this writing we have not yet been sentenced; however, there is little doubt that on September 3, the sentencing date, the stated term of incarceration will be as printed.
On Pacifism: A Different Take
Sat, 07/18/2009 - 09:18 — katkanningAfter reading Ogre's article “On Pacifism” in June's paper I felt the need to add my two cents. The question of whether violence is the solution has plagued me ever since thoughts of greater importance than 'who's buying the beer' and 'how long can I hold this hit in' began to materialize within the resin coated cavity that is my brain. OK, so starting around my 21st birthday this important question has been bothering me.
