Letter to the Editor

Traitor

Robert Wolffe's “Silence is Deadly” letter that appeared in the March NHFP raised several questions. Some of the words he used to describe himself are simply not accurate as far as I can tell. At one point Wolff states, “I am a patriot.” This is a blatant lie.

Mr. Wolffe, were you a patriot when you testified against Brown supporters Dan Riley, Reno Gonzalez, and myself? Were you a patriot when you told the Feds the layout of Ed and Elaine Brown's home? Were you a patriot when you helped the government put me behind bars for 20 years? Wait, I know when you were a patriot, it must have been at your sentencing when you were rewarded with only a couple of years of prison for your invaluable assistance to the forces of tyranny.

In your mind, Robert, a patriot must be an acronym for Person At Trial Ratting Incessantly on Teammates. According to that definition, you are indeed a patriot. Too bad nobody but you considers such a title honorable.

In a State of Tyranny, a free man Belongs in Prison

To all those wrongly convicted, held at Gitmo, or incarcerated for their health issues (the war on drugs), to the unemployed and those doctors without health care, kept from their sacred callings by licenses and those 90% of med-schools closed to amp salaries by the AMA... to my daughters, to those not yet born, I'd like to ask you to be patient. Help is on the way.

They can put YOU down, but they cannot keep US down.

Never forget, that all time is but a moment - and only fear can stretch a moment until it seems like a lifetime. If we are in real danger, then fear ceases to exist. You are bearing the weight of our errors - our failure to pay attention. I'm not alone, and I'm wide awake.

My birthdate is July 10, 1959 - the last of the "boomers."

From peace marches and no draft cards (I never had to get one, thank you to my fellow protesters) to PISS-CUPS and PREEMPTIVE war? For shame.

Silence is Deadly

I am writing this from a federal prison. I am not here because I committed any heinous crime. I am here because I saw injustice and tried to right it. I helped and supported Ed and Elaine Brown. My intent was to keep the US Marshals from killing Ed and Elaine the way they killed Randy Weaver's wife and 10 year old son.

Real Convictions

There are many liberty activists in prison in the Police State of America. Irwin Schiff, Dick Simkanin, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brown, Sherry Jackson and myself, Rick Stanley, are all in prison, as we do not back down from our liberty convictions in the face o government tyranny and oppression. Convictions, real convictions, are not conveniently set aside in fear of tyrants. Your editorial piece entitled “Warning to Government Thugs” rang hollow with the phrase, “sometimes we will back down when the government yells 'take a seat'... In the article “Keene Radio Host Jailed over Couch,” another committed liberty activist Ian Freeman was noted by the editor at the end of the article as such: “Pressure from government thugs proved too great for Mr. Freeman and family. On his third day being jailed, Ian contacted the judge, apologized and agreed to remove the couch and pay the fine. The judge suspended the 90 day contempt of court sentence and had Ian released.”

Profits over Healthcare

The insurance company makes all the rules when it comes to medicine. A coworker has been taking Lipitor (atorvastatin) for treatment of high cholesterol with amazing results. Our employer was forced to change health insurance because that particular health insurance provider no longer does business in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The replacement health insurance will not pay for Lipitor because this medication is apparently too expensive. A great example of bad medicine; a risky approach to health insurance coverage, my coworker’s health is now placed at risk because the new health insurance is only focused on cost savings and not the patients health (This practice is called “Death for Dollars”). Business practices like this have the potential to do more harm than good.

Could Liberty Win the Day, Someday?

I did once briefly meet and shake hands with our governor, John Lynch, and he seems like a genuinely polite, gentle, concerned, reasonable and likable person. However, I have come to believe that he is also an obstruction standing in the way of social justice (he is not the only obstruction). He has repeatedly promised to veto any bills that decriminalize marijuana, legalize gay marriage, or abolish the death penalty, and he has used his power and influence as a public figure to do this quite openly, of his own volition. I understand that he would like to be elected as many times as possible; indeed, we all long for influence, power, and respectability. It is quite human to do so. And I understand that perhaps the majority of New Hampshirites--if that's what we're called--may not be ready to accept change on the level that such legislation would demand, or to vote for anyone who would accept and promote that change from the governor's seat.

Strafford County Sheriff's Office

Sheriff deputy Captain Joseph DiGegorio of Strafford County told me if I refer to Judge Peter Fauver as a criminal in my letters he would arrest me. The judge used the sheriff to harass me by arresting me to stop my opinion letters about this criminal judge. (Joe calls the arrest "detained") Judge Fauver used the power of the NH court in allowing the Madbury NH selectmen to use government powers to seek and get revenge against local residents that the selectmen did not want in their town. The NH Supreme Court covered up the case. I volunteer my time to help this family. NH elected officials use the power of the state to attempt to scare me to stop exposing wrongs in government. These judges and government officials openly violated the constitution and the newspapers censor my opinion letters for some demented reason. The editors are protecting people with “good” reputation. Print the truth and let the people decide.

Solutions for Economic Crisis?

I heard a news program this evening, speak disparagingly of any solutions to the monetary "crisis' this nation seems to be suffering. This was almost heartbreaking, as in the next segment they did a reasonable explanation of of the "problem" of "Inflation", without urging any action to repeal this same problem.

Is it me, or does the economic education of News Dept's & Politicians stop at sound bites, that contain both the problem and, by inference, the solution to that same problem? Or is it that they need the problems created such that they can claim to be solving it, by doing more of what they should be doing less of?

Flag Burning

The flag burning was more than just dumb.

The November issue of the Free Press featured on the front page a photograph of Jesse Maloney buring a U.S. flag. And.......then what?

Did tyrants fall? Did the money system reform? Did the holocaust of innocent babies even slow down?

Of course not! Nothing good comes from such childish tantrums.

What did the flag do wrong? For most Americans, of whatever political pursuasion, the flag symbolizes what is GOOD about America: the unalienable rights, freedom of belief and religious practice, economic opportunity and limited government.

That anarchists should be iconoclasts is like butter on bread. They just seem to go together.

Principles of Righteousness Absent from Courts

October 4, 2008

It is now one year since Ed and I were captured by the marshals and incarcerated. It is hard to believe that an entire year has passed by already. Even though this has not been fun, the time has seemed to pass.

Prison is an experience that is hard to describe to anyone who has not experienced it. It is a sea of contradictions in many ways. In prison one is thrown in with a wide variety of people from backgrounds that are totally different from one's own; thus we are forced to be with people who may have no way of understanding each other from that perspective.

I have seen selfishness, bullying, argumentativeness, lying, stealing; I have also seen sharing, caring, protectiveness, spirituality, compassion as I have seldom experienced in the outside world.
